1. I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday (and if you’re not in the U.S., a great weekend)!
I started the day off with a pumpkin waffle…
… followed by a hike with Shelby (a tradition in my family on T-Giving Day!).
Then we hit the road to spend the afternoon with John’s family in CT. The spread of food was phenomenal and the company was lovely =).
Clockwise on the plate: harvest salad made by moi (featuring this delicious maple walnut vinaigrette), cranberry sauce, roasted root veggies with feta and dried cranberries, pearl onions with toasted sliced almonds, roast turkey with gravy, cornbread stuffing, green bean casserole, sweet potatoes with pecans, ham, and a piece of fabulous spanakopita!
Despite helping myself to small servings of each offering, I was full before I could clean this plate. My stomach capacity is diminishing as pregnancy progresses!
Although I didn’t document it, I did – of course – indulge in dessert. We took a plate of goodies to go, and I enjoyed a sliver of pumpkin pie, a bite-sized pecan tart, and a spoonful of lemon mousse once we were back home and I had a chance to digest.
2. John made a fire in our fireplace for the first time over the weekend!
This weekend I swapped out all of our fall “harvest” decorations for winter-themed ones. Our house now smells like fresh pine boughs, which – when combined with a crackling fire – makes me crave a light powdery dusting of snow.
3. Tomorrow I will be 36 weeks pregnant… 4 weeks to go until my due date!! I can’t believe how fast time is passing, but we’re nearly all set for our baby girl to arrive.
Here’s a shot of me at 34 weeks.
I think I look bigger than I feel. Sometimes I actually forget how far out my belly sticks! I’m absolutely loving feeling her squirm around and kick, and I am getting very excited to meet her =).
4. We’re having fun with fondue over at The Back Burner this week!
I wanted my contribution to include a unique dipper, and John came up with the idea for bite-sized bacon grilled cheese sandwiches.
