I have to share a fantastic new (to me) find with you! My sister-in-law sent me some Barhi dates from her local California farmers market, and I am completely smitten.
[Side note: I’m also currently loving the cloth dishtowel/place mat shown above – it was part of a generous basket of goodies given to me by my mother- and father-in-law for my birthday. Thanks Linda & John!].
You all know how much I adore Medjool dates, but the Barhi variety are threatening to claim the title of best date. Small in size, but incredibly sweet in taste, these petite nuggets of deliciousness truly are reminiscent of caramel. If you can get your hands on some of these little guys, I highly recommend that you buy a bunch! I’m contemplating baking or cooking with some of them, but I can’t promise I won’t eat ’em all plain before the chance presents itself ;).
